WordPress Bibleref Plugin
This page provides information about the Bibleref plugin for WordPress, written by Chris Roberts. Latest version is 1.0, released June 21, 2007. If you have any questions or problems, email me at columcille@gmail.com.

Purpose:
The Bibleref plugin will search your posts for any Scripture references and will wrap them in <cite> tags with the intent that this will make it easier for web search engines to find Scripture references being discussed in your blog.
This kind of modification is called microformatting. A discussion on Scripture reference microformatting can be found at The Semantic Bible.
At this time, the plugin will only look for references not already wrapped in tags. If you manually link your Bible passages to something like the Bible gateway, the plugin will not cite those references. In the future I will consider modifying the plugin to automatically handle references within links.
Instructions:
Download the package you want, upload it to your blog’s wp-content/plugins directory, extract the package - it only contains one file, bibleref.php, activate it from your dashboard Plugins page, and that’s all you have to do! You may want to visit the Bibleref Options page to see what is possible.
The Bibleref plugin is not compatible with the ESV Plugin. Microformatting is already automatically provided with the ESV plugin. The Bibleref plugin is for people who only want an automatic microformat.
Since this website runs the ESV plugin, I can’t provide an example here. But you can see the plugin in action at: http://www.musterion.net/tests/bibleref/?p=4
